Courtney Love has deemed Jay-Z worthy of using lyrics from Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," even though she's not thrilled with the way the rapper went about doing it.
Love - who owns the grunge icons' catalog after the death of her husband, Kurt Cobain - tells "The Huffington Post" Jay used the lyrics first and asked for permission second. And while she calls that "kind of nervy," Love says everything is fine now that they've taken care of the "business side."
She adds that she and Jay-Z are friends, plus he's "huge" right now.
Hova's sample of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is expected to show up on his highly-anticipated upcoming album Magna Carta Holy Grail, which is due out July 4th.
Love, meanwhile, reportedly hopes to have her new solo album out before Christmas.
