Robert Plant's new album might also be his last. The former Led Zeppelin frontman tells the UK's Independent his upcoming studio effort, lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar, might be "the end" of his "musical wanderlust and the wonderful carousel" he's been on.
The singer describes his work as "like a kaleidoscope: you hold it up to the light, rotate it, and the pieces fall beautifully in different ways." But he says his new record "feels different," explaining that it "seems to have some sort of finality."
Plant recorded lullaby with his current group, the Sensational Space Shifters. The album will be available in the U.S. September 9th.
Plant and the band will support the release with live shows. They'll play a UK release day concert in London on September 8th. Their North American tour will begin in Port Chester, New York on September 25th.
